Throughout my tenure, I have strived to bring the European Union closer to citizens by promoting civic engagement, the importance of democratic participation and EU values across Ireland and Europe. As Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the EU next year, Ireland’s place and role in Europe is arguably never more important. I wish European Movement Ireland continued success in its important work ahead.”
