Meet The Team

Prior to this, he served as the Assistant General Secretary and Director of Communications at the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) and is a former President of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland.

David previously worked as Deputy Head of EU and International Affairs at the Federation of Small Businesses, and also served within the European Movement network, having worked as Communications and Policy Manager with European Movement UK.

Dee is a highly experienced CFO and COO with extensive strategic and operational expertise across finance, governance, systems, logistics, HR, compliance, and PR. She has worked internationally with an NGO in Sudan and Pakistan and advised numerous charities and companies through her consulting firm. Dee contributed to the establishment of Cycle Against Suicide, won the 2018 Good Governance Award for Children’s Health Foundation, and currently chairs Edmund Rice Development.

During her career she has successfully designed and led research and campaigning strategies and presented her research findings to a range of audiences. She has managed country programmes in complex contexts such as Central America, Colombia and Myanmar and worked closely with civil society networks in all world regions. She has a proven track-record of engagement and advocacy with policy-makers at government and multilateral level.

Prior to working at EM Ireland, Ciarán worked in banking and finance and as a Schuman Stagiaire in DG Finance in the European Parliament. Ciarán graduated from the Quinn School of Business, UCD with an Hons. Bachelor of Commerce International.

Seán holds a BA in English Literature and Classics, and an MSc in Business Economics. He also holds a post-graduate diploma from the European Institute of Communications.

Following a career in fund accountancy, Seán pursued communications full-time after co-founding the Irish literature and arts magazine, Bealtaine. He has a passion for digital communications as well as offering strategic direction in multimedia outputs.

He is a member of the Washington Ireland Program Class of 2023. As part of the program, Karl served as a Legislative Intern in the U.S House of Representatives where he provided briefing memos for his congressman on policy issues surrounding the war in Ukraine, agriculture, and human rights issues.  He holds a BSc in Politics and International Studies from the University of Ulster, and is particularly passionate about subjects relating to language, culture, and history.

Originally from Belfast, Christopher has also previously worked in Brussels and Berlin. He has held roles at the European Pain Federation (Brussels) as an Advocacy and Communications Trainee supporting the SIP Platform, and in Project Management for International Business Conferences across Europe and the U.S during his time in Berlin.

Christopher holds the qualification Policy Officer in European and International Organisations (Level 7 EQF), recognised by the French State, and has completed a Master’s degree in EU Trade and Climate Diplomacy at LUISS Guido Carli University (Rome) and the Centre International de Formation Européenne (Berlin and Nice). He has a strong academic background in Irish Civil Society and Contemporary Irish Economic Policy,  EU climate and environmental policy, human rights and social equality, the geopolitics of oil, and democratic governance, and brings a cross-border perspective shaped by his background in Northern Ireland.

Finn’s academic background is in International Relations, and he achieved a master’s degree in the field in 2021 from Canterbury Christ Church University thanks to his thesis on Russian Foreign Policy formation under the Putin regime.

He has since worked in various roles, including as an SNA, in retail and as an administrative assistant in the Irish Embassy in London before joining European Movement Ireland.

Previously, she spent three years as a digital policy researcher at the Competence Centre Public IT (ÖFIT) at the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS in Berlin, where she worked on public sector digitalisation and innovation policy. Prior to this, she spent a further three years as Policy Officer for Trade, Investment and Innovation at the Embassy of Ireland in Berlin. Liadán holds an M.A. in Global Markets, Local Creativities from the Universities of Glasgow, Barcelona and Rotterdam, and a B.A. (International) in German and Spanish from University College Cork, including an Erasmus year in Leipzig, Germany. Alongside her studies, she gained experience in international organisations, such as the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning in Hamburg and United Cities, Local Governments in Barcelona.

Patrick holds a BA in German, Politics and Sociology from the University of Galway and spent his third year studying in Freiburg. While living in Germany he taught English as a second language in summer camps across Bavaria. Before joining EM Ireland, he worked as an intern in the Research and Evaluation unit at the Department of Children, Disability and Equality.

Patrick has a passion for civil society engagement, having volunteered with Best Buddies Galway and Ability West during his studies. As society president he helped lead the student friendship programme aimed at the social inclusion of young people living with an intellectual disability.

Amy holds a BA in Journalism from DCU and is currently undertaking an MA in Public Affairs and Political Communications from TU Dublin.

Amy began her career as a Broadcast Journalist with KCLR 96fm, covering current affairs, news and local politics. Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, Amy spent several months as a Researcher on ‘The Last Word with Matt Cooper’ on Today FM. In August of 2023, Amy began as a Researcher on Virgin Media’s breakfast television show ‘Ireland AM’.

Amy began her Master’s degree in September of 2025, during which she gained experience in the Houses of the Oireachtas as a Political Communications Intern in the office of Minister of State in the Department of Health, Jennifer Murnane O’Connor, T.D.
