National Women’s Council – EU Advocacy Training

On the 8th of July 2026, European Movement Ireland were delighted to host an EU Advocacy training session for the National Women’s Council of Ireland in their offices.

The training coincided with the beginning of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, covering an overview of the EU institutions before discussing a targeted and specified EU advocacy strategy for the NWC. We explored the functions of the various institutions of the EU, the current state of play regarding gender equality, an overview of Ireland’s Council Presidency and the EU Civil Society Strategy and Platform. We also looked at how best to engage with MEP’s and the various Committees in the European Parliament.
