EU Unfiltered Roundtable Discussion

13.00 – 14.30 | Wednesday, 20th May | Europe Direct, Carrigaline Library, Strand Road, Carrigaline, P43 HA25,

Carrigaline Library are hosting a free ‘EU Unfiltered’ Roundtable workshop with European Movement Ireland on May 20th.  The public event will take place in the newly opened EDIC centre inside Carrigaline Library from 1pm-3pm, with refreshments provided.

This is the second instalment in European Movement Ireland’s nationwide ‘EU Unfiltered’ roundtable series and is aimed at gauging public opinion on key EU topics as Ireland prepares to host the Presidency of the Council of the EU. These sessions are designed to map public sentiment while ensuring the conversation reflects a wide range of perspectives.

The event will bring participants together in an informal setting to openly discuss both local issues and the state of European affairs. This will also act as a public forum to address various issues including marine protected areas under the EU’s 2030 Biodiversity Strategy and the EU-fisheries deal.

Promoting the benefits of EU membership is a corner stone objective for the European Commission. The newly established Europe Direct Centre in Carrigaline Library is a key service for access to information on the EU. Their range of services also include:

  • Information about Erasmus+ and Discover EU travel opportunities for young people.
  • Access to PCs to search for EU material
  • A freephone link to Europe Direct Helpdesk
  • Events, talks, exhibitions and competitions
