European Movement Ireland is delighted to invite you to our Briefing on Cyprus’s Presidency of the Council of the EU.

We are delighted to be joined by Minister Thomas Byrne TD, Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence and H.E. Louis Telemachou, Ambassador of Cyprus to Ireland.

Ambassador Telemachou will provide an overview and set out the key priorities for the Presidency of the Council of the EU which runs from 1 January to 30 June 2026.

Minister Byrne will provide a keynote address on the latest EU developments while focusing on the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU and looking forward to Ireland’s presidency in the latter half of 2026.

This event is kindly hosted by Minster Thomas Byrne TD and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
