
Innovation & Competitiveness: 30 Years of the Single Market
In-Person Event
European Movement Ireland and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung were delighted to host an in-person event, ‘Innovation and Competitiveness: 30 Years of the Single Market.
This event reflected on the past 30 years of the Single Market and impact it has made on Member States with a focus on Ireland and the innovative and competitive nature of it. The event opened with a keynote address from Commissioner Mairead McGuinness on the role the Single Market has played in shaping the European Union and where in the areas of Financial Services, Financial Stability and Capital Markets Union she can see it developing. This was followed by a panel discussion reflecting on the impact on Ireland, its trade relation within the Single Market, particularly Germany, and how it has been a tool for innovation and competitiveness.
This was the second event in the series with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in 2023.
