Noelle O Connell – Executive Director – firstname.lastname@example.org
Noelle was appointed Executive Director of European Movement Ireland in April 2011. Prior to leading European Movement Ireland, Noelle provided business development training, education and public affairs consultancy to a wide variety of both private and public sector clients. She held management consultancy positions in Accenture; headed up the Training, Education and Development function of the Construction Industry Federation, and was formerly a Director on the Board of Skillnets.
Noelle also has significant experience in the co-operative and third-level sectors and holds an MSc in International & European Politics from the University of Edinburgh, a BA Hons in European Studies and Languages from UCC. She is a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Training and Development, a member of the CIPD and the Institute of Directors of Ireland, and is also a member of the Board of Alliance Française Ireland.
Nora Trench Bowles – Policy and Advocacy Manager – email@example.com
Nora joined the EM Ireland team in March 2016. Prior to that, she worked for the Secretariat-General of the European Commission in Brussels, firstly as a Blue Book stagiaire on relations between the Commission and national Parliaments, then as a member of the team that oversaw the adoption in May 2015 of the Digital Single Market Strategy, and most recently in the office of the Secretary-General.
Nora graduated with a double MA degree in European studies from Uppsala University, Sweden and the University of Strasbourg, France, and she holds a BA International Hons from UCD in History and Politics. Nora completed the EM Ireland stage in 2010, and has also done stages in the Council of Europe and the European Parliament in Strasbourg. She is currently a Director on the Board of the Irish Stammering Association.
As Policy and Advocacy Manager, Nora is responsible for developing EM Ireland’s Advocacy, Programmes and Policy areas in line with the organisation’s overall Strategic Plan.
Sharon Waters – Communications Manager – firstname.lastname@example.org
Sharon joined EM Ireland in October 2017. Sharon has extensive experience in political communications and has worked on a number of election and referendum campaigns, including as Communications Director of a campaign group during the second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. More recently, Sharon led Communications and Public Affairs for the Irish Refugee Council and was Press Officer for the newly established, Child and Family Agency.

Rory joined European Movement Ireland in December 2017. He has over ten years’ experience as a communications consultant, working in the UK, Belgium and New Zealand with a focus on public affairs, political consultancy and social change communications. Most recently, while based in London, he worked with governmental clients in the UK, the EU and Africa on crucial issues facing society, including extremism, deforestation, migration, and tribalism. Prior to this, he led the European Green Party’s media team in Brussels, working closely with member parties in EU member states and beyond.
Rory holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Visual Media Communications.
Ciarán Murray – Future of Europe Project Assistant – firstname.lastname@example.org
Ciarán joined EM Ireland in November 2017 as events stagiaire and then took up the position as Future of Europe project assistant.
Previous to working at EM Ireland Ciarán worked in Banking and Finance and worked as a Schuman stagiaire in DG Finance in the European Parliament. Ciarán graduated from Quinn School of Business, UCD with a Bachelor of Commerce International Hons.

EM Ireland’s Press and Projects Consultant works closely with the organisation in dealing with press queries, social media engagements and general communications, as well as taking a lead role in the organisation’s project work, including coordinating the educational programme, ‘The Blue Star Programme’.
Sam Nariani – Policy and Brexit Research Officer – firstname.lastname@example.org
Sam is Policy and Brexit Research Officer at European Movement Ireland. Sam joined EM Ireland in November 2016, first completing a stage and then a policy and research scholarship with the organisation before undertaking his current role. Previous to his employment at EM Ireland, Sam graduated with a Master’s degree in Human Geography at the University of Nottingham.
As Policy and Brexit Research Officer, Sam is responsible for the preparation of briefings on the latest developments in European politics, including detailed analysis of the Brexit negotiations. Sam also supports the organisation’s wider policy output through the drafting of various publications and communications material.
