Office Team

The EM Ireland office team is made up of the staff and stagiaires who run the organisation on a daily basis from 8 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

Noelle O Connell MAILCHIMPNoelle O ConnellExecutive

Noelle was appointed Executive Director of European Movement Ireland in April 2011.  Prior to leading European Movement Ireland, Noelle provided business development training, education and public affairs consultancy to a wide variety of both private and public sector clients.  She held management consultancy positions in Accenture; headed up the Training, Education and Development function of the Construction Industry Federation, and was formerly a Director on the Board of Skillnets.

Noelle also has significant experience in the co-operative and third-level sectors and holds an MSc in International & European Politics from the University of Edinburgh, a BA Hons in European Studies and Languages from UCC.  She is a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Training and Development, a member of the CIPD and the Institute of Directors of Ireland, and is also a member of the Board of Alliance Française Ireland.

nora 1Nora Trench Bowles – Policy and Programmes Co-ordinator –

Nora joined the EM Ireland team as Policy and Programmes Co-ordinator in March 2016. Prior to that, she worked for the Secretariat-General of the European Commission in Brussels, firstly as a Blue Book stagiaire on relations between the Commission and national Parliaments, then as a member of the team that oversaw the adoption in May 2015 of the Digital Single Market Strategy, and most recently in the office of the Secretary-General.

Nora graduated with a double MA degree in European studies from Uppsala University, Sweden and the University of Strasbourg, France, and she holds a BA International Hons from UCD in History and Politics. Nora completed the EM Ireland stage in 2010, and has also done stages in the Council of Europe and the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

As Policy and Programmes Co-ordinator, Nora is responsible for developing EM Ireland’s Advocacy, Programmes and Policy areas in line with the organisation’s overall Strategic Plan.

Sam Nariani Research Stagiaire –

EM Ireland’s Research Stagiaire works closely with the organisation’s staff in the research, drafting and preparation of a wide variety of publications and communications materials.

Niamh Walsh  Communications Stagiaire –

EM Ireland’s Communications Stagiaire is responsible for supporting the work of the Communications and Public Affairs team and contributing to the implementation of EM Ireland’s communications strategy across a range of platforms.

Fiona Kane – Education Stagiaire –

EM Ireland’s Education Stagiaire works with the organisation’s staff in the co-ordination of EM Ireland’s education work including the Blue Star programme.
