Q. I’ve just turned 18, how do I register to vote?

Category: EM Ireland, EM Ireland - News

In order to get on the register to vote next year, you will have to make sure that you make it on to the draft register by 25 November. You need to get in contact with your local County council and send them in a completed application form; here is a link to the application form http://www.dlrcoco.ie/voters/RFAEnglish.pdf. You will then be able to vote when the register comes into force on 15 February next year.

As there is a chance of a general election soon you might want to get on the register sooner. You can do this by filling in a form to be added to the supplement to the register. Here is a link to that form: http://url.ie/2nd7 .These must be submitted up to 15 days before polling day, and then you will be able to vote in that election.
