EM Ireland are partnering with a number of our EM International colleagues on an exciting new programme, Campaign Europe!
About Campaign Europe!
Campaign Europe! is an international Youth in Action project, devised and led by European Movement Finland. With a number of complementary strands, Campaign Europe! aims to boost awareness of and engagement with Europe in Ireland, Finland, Albania and Slovenia through 2014. The four partners on this initiative are European Movement Finland, European Movement Ireland, European Movement Albania and European Movement Slovenia.
Photo for Europe Contest
The first strand of Campaign Europe! is a photo contest, entitled Photo for Europe. To be in with a chance of winning €1,000, we asked you to submit a photo illustrating what being European means to you.
The contest was split into two categories, one for people under 18 years of age and a second for those over 18. Following judging by an independent panel, the first-place winner in each category received a grand prizes of €1,000. The ten best photos in each category will also be exhibited in the central railway station in Helsinki between Saturday 7 June 2014 and Monday 30 June 2014 and can be viewed below.
Congratulations to Jari Lam from Finland, whose photo entitled “Joy”, won the Europa category and to Doris Rapi from Albania, who won the Juvenes category with her photo “Unity in Diversity”!

Campaign Europe! Events
As part of Campaign Europe!, EM Ireland will also be holding various regional events in 2014. Each partner organisation on the project also held celebrations to mark Europe Week 2014 (5-9 May).
Campaign Europe! Survey
EM Ireland, EM Finland, EM Albania and EM Slovenia will all also be conducting an international survey of members of the public in summer 2014 to establish public sentiment towards the EU in our four countries. The results of this survey will be published in autumn 2014.
Keep in touch with Campaign Europe!
We will be issuing regular Campaign Europe! newsletters to keep you up-to-speed with the project’s progress here in Ireland. The newsletters will also feature contributions from our partner organisations on the work they have been doing as part of the project.
You can also follow social media updates from Ireland, Finland, Albania and Slovenia by using the hashtag #CampaignEurope.
